Increase Your Home’s Value By Staying Ahead of Kitchen Cabinet Trends

It is always financially wise to make choices that will maximize your home’s value when you are remodeling, updating or building something new. “The Modern House” recently revealed that great design can add an average of 12 percent to your home’s selling price.

Selection of materials and design choices in your kitchen cabinet design can significantly help or hurt your home’s value.  We see folks who spend a lot on the products they select but don’t quite pull off the look because of minor errors in design basics.  We also see folks that don’t consider where design trends are headed and therefore make choices that are dated before the paint dries. Here are some important things to consider if you want to maximize home value:

Be Aware of the Upcoming Kitchen Cabinet Trends That Will Impact Home Value

We work to stay ahead of design trends by attending trade shows and following top-end design influencers. If the future could be captured in a few words it would be….gold finishes, metals, quartz counters, color cabinetry including beautiful woods, and European style.

One of the most important areas of your home is the kitchen so it will impact the value of your home the most. What does all of this look like? Well let’s dive by examining what is going on with some of these trends:

The sink can be a major design feature when you step out of the typical double bowl stainless model that has been in use for so long, and you can add this feature at a variety of price points.  The same goes for faucets.  Your faucet selection is important not only for functionality but for the ability to set the tone for your design.

Beautiful designs for vent hoods, sink bases and cooktop areas can make the difference in an average kitchen and a fantastic kitchen.

Take a look at a few things we have created recently to get a feel for what we mean.  We often build custom vent hoods for our jobs in speciality woods, and a crazy cool vent hood can make a kitchen design.

Color and Natural Wood are Back in Cabinet Design In a Big Way!

Fun colors on islands and unique woods intermingled with paint are stepping out over the all white designs that have been so popular.  The best designs use combinations of natural wood, paint and accent colors. Design is open and more integrated into the overall design of the home and more like furniture.  The island below was finished with multiple coats of a distressed gray hand-rubbed finish.
